24th child dies of cold weather exposure in Kabul refugee camps

I live in California, and well I hate to admit it, but in the Winter, I stand outside in the cold for a few mintues and I say, “It was so cold out there, I feel like I could freeze to death.”

Never again will I utter such words so casually.

In Kabul Afghanistan, temperatures have barely reached above freezing for the past several months. On Wendesday January 8th, the 24th child was lost to the miserable weather conditions.

Sayid Mohammad, who lives in a refugee camp is unable to keep his family warm in these miserable conditions. His youngest child was found stiff and lifeless–frozen to death.

These conditions are faced by millions across Kabul who live in refugee camps, due to decades of war on the country. AMOR currently has a clinic, food distribution site and well asa medical residents who are in the a refugee camp near Afshar Hospital 4 days a week. It is our desire to make sure quality medical services are available and provided for those living in these dire conditions.
