Dr. Mark Scoffield, AMOR's Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Scoffield practiced medicine and surgery for over 20 years, specializing in foot and ankle surgery. After developing an ambulatory surgery center, he gravitated into providing consulting services for other physicians and performing accrediting surveys for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Healthcare across the US. The Assemi family recognized his experience with ambulatory surgery centers as just what AMOR needed to fulfill its vision. Since 2006, Dr. Scoffield has focused full-time on AMOR. He visits Afshar Hospital periodically to provide oversight and insure progress towards improving quality of care. He visited the hospital under construction in Karbala and will return as needed. Ms. Davena Witcher- Development Director
Ms. Witcher is a Registered Nurse and a Registered Respiratory Therapist. She practed at a Level III NICU for 12 years as well as tought Neonatal Resuscitation and Intubation for the UCSF Residency Program. She began serving on the AMOR Board of Directors in 2008 and worked to develop Afshar Hospital's Policies and Procedures. In August of 2011, she joined the AMOR staff assisting in development at Afshar Hospital as well as developing funding and donor realtionships. Ms. Witcher as been to Afghanistan and will return in February of 2012.
Ms. Meagan Sells - Project Manager
Ms. Sells is AMOR’s Project Manger, working closely with Dr. Scoffield, providing opportunities to raise support for Afshar Hospital and AMOR’s other future projects. She is responsible for scheduling speaking engagement for Dr. Scoffield, hosting fundraising events, working with grantmaking organization, and enganging people around the world to advocate for AMOR. Ms. Sells has been a part of AMOR since April 2010 and hopes to visit Afshar Hospital in the near future.
