From the very beginning at Afshar Hospital, AMOR wanted to make sure that the Afghans ultimately would be in control of their own destiny. Sustainability is key at Afshar Hospital. It is AMOR’s goal not only at Afshar Hospital, but at each of its project locations , to someday no longer be involved in the day-to-day activities in running the facilities. All of the management , financial and funding decisions necessary to provide healthcare to those in needs at Afshar Hospital, will come from the Afghans and no longer be needed from AMOR. This does not mean that AMOR will not be willing to help, but simply that the goal will create a situation where Afghans can provide high quality healthcare for themselves. The Afghans will have developed the skills, knowledge and ability to do so.
